Welcome Fall Menu: Dessert
I have to say the expression easy as pie always baffled me. I know a LOT of pies that are not easy to make. Take pie crust for example. How many of you have lustfully looked at a piece of pie thinking " Oh yeah, that crust is going to be great" and found that it was really limp, and tasteless? I know I have. I am still searching for a good crust recipe that is super easy to make and really good. Until then, I use the stuff from the box. If you have a good recipe for a no fail crust, would you mind sharing? This dessert is only a few steps and the results are always tasty. It truly is easy as pie.
2 Apples peeled and Sliced thin- I use two different kinds
Pie crust, I use the kind in the refrigerator section, Be sure to bring it to room temperature first.
Cinnamon sugar for sprinkling over crust, optional
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a bowl, mix the apples with brown sugar and cinnamon.
Unroll the pie crust and place on a baking sheet.
Pour apples in the center of the crust.
Bend the sides of the crust up around the apples.
Brush the crust and apples with melted butter and bake in a 350 degree oven until the crust is golden brown. About 30 minutes.
I hope you have enjoyed this weeks menu. I know I had a great time making and eating these dishes this week. If you ever have a recipe you would like to share or something you would like to see don't hesitate to contact me. Be sure to stop back next week for more recipes.
