6 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon cloves
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups chunky applesauce
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Place cupcake papers in muffin tin. Melt butter in a small sauce pan or in the microwave.
Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices in a large bowl.
Cream eggs and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add apple sauce and butter and mix to incorporate.
Pour apple sauce mixture over dry ingredients and stir until no trace of flour remains.
Fill baking cups with 1/4 cup of baking mix and bake for 20 minutes, testing for doneness with a toothpick.
