It seems that I am completely inept when it comes to toffee and caramel making. I have tried to make caramel about 3 times. Each time has resulted in some pretty serious burns, stuck pans and a smokey house. Tonight was no different when I attempted to make toffee.
Things were starting to look good. I had a lovely caramel looking goo in the bottom of my pan, it smelled sweet and wonderful. I took a look at my timer, and noticed I still had 4 minutes I was supposed to cook it. So I put it back on the stove and cooked it until it was smoking and black.
I am so done with caramel and toffee.
