Buttermilk Biscuits

Light and flaky these biscuits rock. They are great with jam, apple butter, or just a little butter. These are my mother's recipe and have been a part of many breakfasts and teas.
Try these with some black berry jam!

Buttermilk Biscuits

2 Cups flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 Tbsp sugar
1/3 cup hard butter
3/4 cup buttermilk

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Combine dry ingredients. Cut in butter until crumbly, and add buttermilk. Turn out and knead until a soft dough forms.

Pat into a 10 inch round cake pan, cut out biscuits in pan, leaving scraps and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Very nice! They look wonderful. Now, if I just had some of the oven fried chicken and some of these biscuits!
