This coffee cake is simple to make and disappears rapidly. At 250 calories per slice (spark recipe builder,) this bread paired with nonfat yogurt is a great breakfast.

Coffee Cake- Serves 8

1 Cup all purpose flour
1 cup self-rising flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 Tbsp sugar
1/3 cup hard butter
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar

2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cardamom (optional)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Combine dry ingredients. Cut in butter until crumbly, and add buttermilk. Turn out and knead until a soft dough forms.

Pat into a 10 inch round cake pan sprayed with cooking spray. Combine topping ingredients and place on top of coffee cake.

Bake 20- 25 minutes, cool and store refrigerated for up to 5 days.
