Bread With a Hole in the Middle

Bread with a hole in the middle, birds in the basket, eggs in the nest, are all different names for a delicious breakfast. Crispy toast surrounds an egg for a delightful home style breakfast.

Bread With a Hole in the Middle

4 slices of bread
4 eggs

butter

Using a cookie cutter or a drinking glass, cut a hole out of the center of the bread. Butter the bread on both sides and place in a nonstick pan. allow the bread to lightly brown on both sides and pour egg in the middle. Allow the egg to set, and flip. Cook a until the top has set, and the egg is cooked to your liking. Serve immediately.

Happy Cooking,

Joy

My children called it egg bread when they were little. We didn't actually cut the hole out , just poked fingers though it and stretched it out a bit and then dropped the egg on it. It kind of soaked in messily. Maybe I will make them tomorrow.
