Perfect Hard-boiled eggs

Hard boiled eggs are a great portable food. They are quick to make and are packed with protein. I like to make a bunch up to have on salads, for a quick breakfast, and of course as egg salad. Today I share tips for getting perfect hard-boiled eggs.


Hard Boiled eggs
A large pot of cold water
eggs

Add eggs to a large pot of water over medium-high heat. Bring eggs to a boil. When the water is at a rolling boil, begin timing the eggs for 9 minutes. At the end of the nine minutes, remove from heat and place eggs in cold water. Allow the eggs to cool for a few minutes and then peel.

Tips:
I find that peeling eggs as soon as you can handle them allows them to peel easily.

If you are using farm fresh eggs, wait until the eggs are a few days old before boiling.
