Yummy Baked Doughnuts

A while ago I was seeing tons of baked doughnut recipes. I knew I needed to try some of these recipes, but I needed to get a pan first. My family came down for a visit and we decided to make some of these doughnuts.

First, let me tell you, they are super easy. WAY easier than yeasted doughnuts, or fried doughnuts. Secondly, You're only about 15 minutes away from hot glazed doughnuts. That may be a lot quicker than your trip to a Krispy Kreme. Third, you can find lots of pans online, or in your local Target for around 15 bucks.

Easy Baked Doughnut Recipe Makes 12 Doughnuts
Recipe adapted from Nortic Ware

2 cups cake flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
2 TBSP melted butter
1 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup to 3/4 cup water

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine Dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Combine wet ingredients in a medium bowl. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Spray pan with cooking spray and fill about 2/3 full with batter. Bake 10-12 minutes.

Place a rimmed baking pan with a cooling rack inside on the counter.

Prepare glaze by combining all ingredients in a small pot and warming over medium heat.

Turn doughnuts out of the pan, onto the cooling rack.Glaze doughnuts hot right out of the oven, by drizzling the glaze over the top.

They're delicious still hot out of the oven!

Happy Cooking!
